Still From “Mountain Woman”
Daniel Satinoff is a Los Angeles based Cinematographer with experience in feature films, commercials and music videos. He hopes to use these mediums to express the connections between people through intimate portraiture and naturalistic lighting.
Daniel attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts School of Filmmaking where he earned his BFA in Cinematography and studied under filmmakers such as Michael Chapman, Peter Bogdanovich and Tom Ackerman.
After graduating, Daniel moved to Los Angeles where now he spends his time shooting series, commercials, music videos and feature films.
Daniel has also worked as a digital imaging technician on major commercials, television series and feature films. This experience of working with a number of prolific Cinematographers such as Darius Khondji, Robert Elswit and Diego Garcia has allowed Daniel to widen his artistic reach and further refine his skills behind the camera. Daniel has brought this knowledge to bear in his work as a Cinematographer himself.
Daniel’s most recent episodes on the HBO Max series Tokyo Vice starring Ansel Elgort, Ken Watanabe, Rachel Keller and Sho Kasamatsu are now streaming on HBO Max. His most recent film Ha-Chan Shake Your Booty premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival and has been acquired by Sony Pictures Classics.
